Come take a spin on the wheel!
4 Week Mini Course Outline:
Week 1 & 2: Introduction to Wheel Throwing!
It’s so exciting to throw a pot on the wheel, so let’s get dirty! Your instructor will teach you the basic steps and techniques for throwing. At the end of the class, pick your favourite 2 pieces to keep!
Week 3: Trimming and Hand Building. Trim your pieces from week 1 & 2. If there's time after trimming, and learn about pinch-pots, slabs, coils and joining clay pieces. Everything needs to be finished and ready to go into the kiln for a first firing by the end of class 3.
Week 4: Glazing
Pieces will be painted and decorated with glaze. Students can make them as bright and colourful as they want! They will be food safe when finished.
Pieces will go back into the kiln for a second firing and will be ready for pick up in a couple of weeks!
