This class is for student who have completed the Beginner 8 week course at least once and feels confident in their skills.
The intermediate class is more free-form than the beginner's class. There will be an experienced instructor for guidance and to answer all of your questions, but the class content is self led. Come in with some projects that you would like to achieve and we’ll try to guide you through the process.
Are you ready for intermediate?

For wheel throwers: Can you center a 1lb ball of clay independently? Can you throw two pieces that are pretty consistent?

If you are hand building, can you independently work with slabs, coils and molds?

Do you feel that you have learned all the basic skills taught in the Beginners class?

Intermediate Class
Outline:
Week 1: Throwing and making.
Week 2-4: Trim then throw/make
Week 5: Mid session glaze then trim and throw.
Week 6: Trim then throw/make.
Week 7: Trim your pieces from week 6, and try out some hand-building.
Everything needs to be finished by the end of this class and ready to go into the kiln to be fired and ready for Glazing next week.
Week 8: Glaze and finish!
1 x 10kg Bag of clay is included in the class fee.
Additional clay may be purchased at a cost of: $30 for a 10kg bag for new clay.
$15 for a 5kg bag of reclaimed clay if available.
If you miss a class that you have registered for, we cannot provide a refund or alternative class time for you.
Please let your instructor know to keep your work wrapped for the following week.
